About Rosalie Ann Valerio Founder of Solar Holistic A native of Alameda, California and the San Francisco Bay Area, Rosalie's family has lived on the island of Alameda since the late 1930's. She is the eleventh of twelve children born to the late Oliver and Carmen Valerio. Rosalie attended private and public schools in Alameda and later graduated from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville as a Massage Therapist and Health Educator in 1994. Six years after graduating, Rosalie began teaching at her alma mater, studying Chinese meridian theory and specializing in Shiatsu. A creative and intuitive instructor, Rosalie was mentored by Jim O'Hara at the private postsecondary institute, while integrating traditional Chinese medical theory, Tai C'hi based exercises inspired by master Al Huang, stretching, meditation, and zen storytelling as part of the Shiatsu curricula. After she was invited to teach faculty in the summer of 2004, Rosalie lectured on meridian theory and instructed the faculty members at the Western Career College (now Carrington College) Sacramento campus, in Shiatsu technique. Rosalie taught the curricula for all classes in the evening massage therapy program at the Western Career College Pleasant Hill campus for two years, until 2006. Rosalie then worked in construction administration and workshop staffing, and continues to staff workshop panelists for PAX Programs, Inc., from her home office. In 2010, Rosalie began teaching business skills at the City College of San Francisco's Mission, Downtown, Chinatown, Southeast and Hayes Valley campuses to a diverse student population. As her delight lies in being fulfilled and experiencing others be happy in their lives, Rosalie became certified in a form of life coaching, known as the Dream Coach® method, in 2009. Using this proven process, Rosalie helps people to become more fulfilled in life, by helping them to discover their life's purpose and fulfill their "dreams", be it one or more dreams, no matter how big or how small. Rosalie was trained in coaching by Marcia Wieder (who founded the Dream Coach® method, and has appeared on Oprah and the TODAY Show). Marcia Wieder also coaches Jack Canfield (co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series along with Mark Victor Hansen). As of this writing, Marcia is not taking on new clients; therefore, to assist a wider population, coaches such as Rosalie carry on this process through the use of the Dream Coach® proven system of making dreams come true. Rosalie leads her own workshops on clutter clearing and couples massage therapy, and occasionally is available for teaching any part of the entire massage therapy curriculum for private institutions. A former professional aquarium SCUBA diver, Rosalie has attained over 1,000 hours diving with sharks indigenous to the San Francisco Bay. She is one of only a few divers in the world who has worked in close quarters with a blue shark and a six-gill shark in captivity. One of her joys was meeting Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of the late father of SCUBA diving, Jacques Cousteau) at the Great American fish count at San Francisco's PIER 39, in 1997. She also dove with film director Ron Howard's crew while submerged in the shark tank for a movie segment being filmed that involved actor Matthew McConaughey walking through an acrylic tunnel of the aquarium. Rosalie was featured in an interview by Sport Diver magazine which was aired on the cable television network ESPN for a program profiling professional sport divers. Open-minded and adventurous, Rosalie has also logged pilot hours in Cessna airplanes, has travelled to 25 countries, and holds a skipper's certificate, sailing primarily 30-foot Hunter yachts. In her spare time, Rosalie enjoys movies, theatre, acting, concerts, comedy, dancing, reading, dining, walking in the woods, camping, museums, beaches, amusement parks, world travel, skiing, sailing, rafting, snowboarding, relaxing, spending time with friends, and most all water sports imaginable. Rosalie works in San Francisco, and at her home office located in Alameda, CA. She believes in having work that she loves, living her life to the fullest, and is so very grateful for every day. |
